week 3 results

Week 3: The Peter Division swept the Link this weekend. D. Brees had 12 points to lead the Maroons over the Wheaties 36-29. R. Moss’s two catches were good for tds and 12 points to lead the Salmon to claim the pipe line from Charlie 46-40. M. Vick put up 16 points in leading the Onion Heads over the Colassals 52-26. The schedule maker loves the Thumbs. For the second straight week they played the lowest scoring team leading to a 22-13 win over the Whales. In the bruising Julie Division, TD Jesus got 20 points from A. Boldin for a 46-38 win over the Ducks, and the Crushers downed the winless Gatsbys 33-28.

Charlie won the two week high point money, but went 2-0 in the process. Oh, the great schedule god giveth (Thumbs) and taketh away.

Just counting players that started, WRs had 16 tds to RBs 12. Last year, every week, the RBs would outscore the WRs by almost 2-1. The first two weeks it was 12 each.

Moves: The Ducks picked up L (How is he not a Jet) Blount for Bradford. The Thumbs are going to Kansas City instead of Denver. Charlie finally got his man, B. Green-Ellis for M. Bush. The Maroons took L. Murphy for Maroney. The Whales picked up C. Buckhalter for V. Jackson.
The Chiefs may have won again to go 3-0 but the Wheat Eaters lost, returning some balance to the nation.

DeSales had a bye last week and opens league play Thursday night in Waitsburg. This could be the game of the year in the league.

SAUSAGE FEST is this Friday and Saturday at DeSales. Be sure to come on down for food, drinks, games, and music.

WWSOFFL:

Week 2: J. Best’s 22 points (with 4 bonus points as a receiver!) led the Wheaties to a 54-50 win over Charlie. Charlie had what could be a record of 13 bonus points in a heartbreaking defeat. The Whales kept pace with the Wheat Eaters defeating the Colassals 32-26 behind 21 points from L. McCoy. TD Jesus, led by A. Rodgers 12 points, won a 22-22 tiebreaker over the Maroons. The Ducks came back from a close loss last week to beat the Salmon 36-23. N. Rackers led the way with 13 as the Crushers beat the Onion Heads 39-31, and the defending champs got an easy first win over the Gatsbys 33-17. M. Schaub with 13 and F. Gore with 12 led the way.

Moves: There were plenty of moves this week. The Onion Heads took M. Vick for R. Grant; the Whales got the Hasselback for Farve and M. Williams for L. Washington. The Maroons were the first to Tolbert, dropping D. Brown, and P. Hillis, dropping L. Robinson. The Gatsbys took H. Miller for Boss. Charlie traded in Gaffney and picked up E. Royal. The Thumbs got D. Thomas for R. Williams. TD Jesus picked up K. Walter for B. Lloyd and Nugent for Longwell. Finally, the Colassals exchanged the bolts for stripes, giving up the Chargers for the Bengals while also taking Clayton for Crayton. BECAUSE THESE RESULTS ARE LATE, I AM TREATING TODAY,
THURSDAY, AS IF IT WAS TUESDAY (the normal day for results) IN TERMS OF THE PICKUP RULES FOR ANY DROPPED PLAYER. Oz has spoken.

Yes, the standings are correct. The Wheat Eaters are 2-0.

Number 54 returned to the gridiron for DeSales this past Friday, and the Irish returned to the win column with a 45-0 drubbing of White Swan. Kincaid was only able to go on offense, but played well into the third quarter before being lifted. DeSales has a bye this week and opens league play next Thursday night in Waitsburg.

week 1

Week 1: Unless you were the Colassals, it was a low-scoring week. Led by A. Foster’s 23, and H. Nicks’s 18, the Colassals rolled over the Crushers 64-28. Only two other games featured teams with over 30 points, and they all played each other. The Ducks just got past Charlie 32-31 on A. Collie’s bonus points. The Gatsbys had the heartbreaker of the week “losing” 36-31 to the Whales. We all know that Calvin Johnson did score that td, and that with those 6 points the Gatsbys win, but we will not dwell on the injustice of overturning that call. Schmitz and Schwartz, the magnanimous law firm. The Onion Heads downed the defending champion Thumbs 18-14, the Maroons speared the Salmon 23-11, and the Wheaties roared out of the gate behind P. Manning’s 13 points to welcome TD Jesus to the league with a 25-23 win.

Moves: We did not start playing and the Wheaties were wheelin’ and dealin’ like it was still draft day picking up D. McCluster for S. Holmes; and TD Jesus picked up D. Jackson and B. Lloyd for Westbrook and Berrian.

The DeSales Irish, behind captain Kincaid Schmitz, are 1-1. After a thrilling OT win over LaSalle in week one, the Irish fell to Number 1 rated Colfax on Friday. But there was a catch. Number 54 was unable to play for the Irish. He should be ready to go this Friday at 7 at Ty Baffney Field against White Swan.
