WWSOFFL:

Weeks 12: You already have the scores. I have attached the standings, but I think what Ben sent out was accurate. Five teams are in, Onion Heads, Maroons, Charlie, Muiracles, and Ducks, with Charlie having clinched his Division. Four teams fighting for the last spot, Wheaties, Whales, Crushers, and Salmon. No head to head games to settle matters.

I will get the results out as soon as possible this week.

Week 11

Weeks 11: Big week for the Link division with four winners. The Julies all lost. With two weeks left, we have eight teams fighting for the six spots and also the Salmon hoping that things fall just right and they get into a tiebreaker for the last spot. The Maroons hopes of catching the Onion Heads were kept alive, the Muiracles and Ducks remain tied in the Julie, and Charlie holds to a one game lead in the Link.

The Thumbs were eliminated from the playoffs.

Week 10

November 11, 2008

WWSOFFL:

Today is Veteran’s Day, and the League Office wants to take this moment to remember and thank all who have served.

Weeks 10: The Clampetts Win! New team apparel is flying off the shelves. Oh, the week they stop making side bets. It was 41-37 over the Wheaties. The Onion Heads clinched a playoff spot, and probably the division, with a 62-33 win over the Maroons. T. Jones led the way with 20 points. In the other Peter Division game, the Salmon beat the Thumbs 34-8 behind 14 points from K. Winslow. The Link is all bunched up with only one game separating three teams. The Whales, with 18 points from M. Jones-Drew, beat Charlie 44-37. That puts them in a tie with the Wheaties in second, one game back of Charlie. Similarly, the Link Division has three teams battling still for the lead. The Ducks moved into a tie with the Muiracles with a 47-20 win over the hapless Gatsbys while the Crushers got 12 points from A. Boldin to down the Muiracles 41-28 and to move one game behind the co-division leaders.

The Gatsbys were eliminated from the playoffs.

Games of the Week. Onion Heads vs. Charlie, Wheat Eaters vs. Ducks, and Muiracles vs. Whales. These will be fun to watch.

Moves: Charlie took C. Benson for R. Torian. The Crushers picked up T. Thigpen for C. Palmer. The Whales got G. Camarillo for J. Gage. The Clampetts went back to D. Williams for R. Williams and B. Quinn for J. Garcia. The Maroons took J. Charles for M. Pittman. The Onion Heads switched to Fasano from Z. Miller. The Ducks went for K. Boss over H. Miller.

THE DESALES IRISH cruised in their final regular season game, defeating Liberty Christian (Richland) 41-28. The subs played most of the second half after the lead got to 41-14. They return to Yakima Friday night to play the LaSalle Lightning in the first round of the playoffs. It is a rematch of the first game of the season which LaSalle won.

Week 9

WWSOFFL:

Weeks 9: In the big game this week, and the big bet, it was the Gatsbys 44, The Clampetts 22. Polly and I are looking forward to those iced teas. The Gatsbys were led by A. Gonzalez with 12 points in doubling up on the Clampetts. The Onion Heads continue to set the pace with another win, 29-17 over the Whales. The Muiracles stayed on top in the Julie with a narrow 32-31 win over the Salmon. Charlie leads the Link at 6-3 with a 32-14 victory over the Thumbs. The Ducks topped the Maroons 28-23 to move into second by themselves in the Julie, just as the Wheat Eaters took over second in the Link with a 28-17 win over the Crushers.

The Muiracles took the two week money.

The Clampetts were eliminated from the playoffs.

Games of the Week. Onion Heads vs. Maroons and Muiracles vs. Crushers.

Moves: Crushers went back to Shiacoe for LJ Smith; The Whales took Carney for Folk; The Wheaties grabbed Bulger for O’Sullivan and Green-Ellis for B. Johnson; Charlie got R. Torian for Shockey and S. Rosenfelds for D. Anderson; Gatsbys took Lindell for Vinateri; Thumbs picked up Philadelphia for Jets and D. Lee for D. Jackson; and the Clampetts took K. Faulk for D. Williams.

THE DESALES IRISH got crushed 34-0 by Asotin. When you consistently give up long tds, on fourth and 12 no less, and get your own called back for penalties, you get this outcome. One more regular season game before the playoffs.
