Week *

WWSOFFL:

Weeks 8: The Muiracles dominated in the big game, getting 12 points from L. White and D. Clark in a big 43-14 win over Charlie. The Thumbs had a huge week, with 16 points from B. Westbrook and 15 from S. Smith for a 54-37 win over the Crushers. There was too much hubris from both of those losing teams in their lineup announcements. The Onion Heads maintained their league best record with a 24-16 win over the Gatsbys. The Maroons kept pace with a 42-21 win in the Casserole Bowl. Roddy White, and his 15 points, will be joining Drew for dinner. The Wheat Eaters pulled within a game of the lead in the Link with a S. Suisham (15 points) led win over the Salmon, 36-15. Peyton Manning’s late TD led the Ducks over the Whales 30-27.

Big game this week: Gatsbys v. The Clampetts.

The race in the Julie is the toughest in the league with three strong teams.

The Gatsbys have a new philosophy to get them through the season. As you may have noticed, their performance is the direct opposite of the G-Men. May it stay that way.

Moves: Maroons: A. Pittman for Hasselbeck; Gatsbys: M. Ryan for L. Moore; Ducks: Tampa Bay for Dallas; Muiracles: Breaston for Hester.

THE DESALES IRISH got off fast this week with 21 first quarter points in a 21-7 win over Garfield-Palouse. They play at home on Friday at 7 against undefeated and second ranked Asotin for the league title. Come enjoy the bbq and the game.

Week 7

WWSOFFL:

Weeks 7: Adam, name that team! Charlie, with 20 points from M. Moore, downed the formerly known as Colassals 62-41. The Maroons were not far behind in points in a 60-36 win over the Thumbs. S. Jackson led the way with 22. The Onion Heads kept one game ahead in the Peter with a 27-11 victory over the Salmon. Back to the Link Division, the Whales stayed within a game of Charlie thanks to two tds from D. Rhodes in a 27-21 win. The Crushers won the big game against the Ducks, 41-24, led by 12 from R. Moss. Now the Gatsbys rarely whine, and surely with the pathetic team they have this year, they should just stay quite. And when you play LT, you expect a running back to score big on you. But not LenDale White with 21 points to lead the Muiracles to a 37-34 win. AP finally breaks out with a big game and oh never mind. The Muiracles and Crushers are still tied.

As if he is not having enough reward, Charlie won the two week money.

Big game this week: Charlie vs Muiracles.

Moves: Maroons: Baltimore for New England; Charlie: M. Moore for L. Washington, D. McAlister for C. Perry, Shockey for Garrard; Salmon: San Diego for Jacksonville; Colassals: Keller for S. Young.; Thumbs: Jets for Buffalo.

THE DESALES IRISH once again came from behind this week for a 31-13 win over Waitsburg. It is off to Garfield-Palouse this Friday in a battle for first place. Both teams, along with Asotin, are undefeated in league play.

Week 6

WWSOFFL:

Weeks 6:  The Onion Heads and Charlie took the leads in the Peter and Link Divisions, while the Muiracles, Ducks, and Crushers remain in a three-way tie in the Julie.  The Onion Heads had a big week from their running backs with T. Jones and C. Portis putting up 18 and 14 points respectively in a 55-26 win over the Wheat Eaters.  Charlie surged from behind on Monday night with 11 points from B. Edwards for a 37-32 win over the Maroons.  The Crushers also came from behind on Monday as J. Lewis’s td was enough to get past the Whales and Jones-Drew’s 15 points, 40-39.  The Muiracles kept the Colassals winless with a 32-13 win, and the Ducks got 10 points from P. Manning in a 27-11 win over the Thumbs.  The Salmon, with 12 points from N. Keading, beat the Gatsbys 24-12.

Please note that Charlie had 38 points last week, and not 32 as reported.

Moves: The Wheaties revamped, taking R. Johnson for Mendenhall, T O’Sullivan for Galloway, and S. Suisham for Dawson.  They then dropped Rudi for Brad Johnson.  The Colassals picked up D. Williams for Kitna and K. Orten for Meacham.  The Salmon won the race to J. Campbell, dropping the SD D.  The Whales picked up D. Rhodes for TJ Duckett.  The Gatsbys picked up D. Henderson for B. Johnson, and then dropped him for Moore.  They also picked up Carlson for Heap.  Charlie added D. Garrard for Austin.  The Onion Heads picked up Shockey for Sciafee, and then dropped him for Z. Miller.  The Crushers went back to LJ Smith for Shiancoe.

The big game this week is the Ducks and Crushers.  Winner stays in front and the loser drops back a game.

THE DESALES IRISH again came from behind this week for a 30-19 win over Pomeroy.  If you want to see a home field advantage, go to a game at Pomeroy.  I am not talking about crowd noise and atmosphere, I am talking about good old-fashioned homering.  The Irish play at home on Friday at 7 against Waitsburg.  The bbq starts selling at 6.

Week 5 Results

October 7, 2008

WWSOFFL:

Weeks 5: The Maroons knocked off the previously undefeated Onion Heads, 41-39, behind 14 points from B. Jacobs. These two teams are now tied for the lead in the Peter Division. The Thumbs beat the Salmon 40-32, led by S. Slaton’s 12 points. There are three way ties for the lead in the Link and Julie Divisions. The Wheat Eaters just got past the still winless Colassals 23-22 to claim a share of the lead. T. Romo’s 10 points proved to be the difference. Charlie used an old friend, I Bruce, to captain his whaler into first, as he and N. Rackers had 12 points each in a 32-18 win. The Ducks got 12 points from M. Forte and 51 overall to defeat the Gatsbys 51-38 and to move into first along with the Crushers and Muiracles. The Crushers got two punt returns from R. Bush to beat the Muiracles 45-32.

The Maroons get the two-week money.

Moves: The Colassals took J. Kitna for T. Edwards. Charlie took M. Austin for D. Williams. The Whales grabbed Tennessee for Seattle.

Some big games this week pitting first place teams against each other: Maroons v Charlie; Onion Heads v Wheat Eaters; Whales v. Crushers.

THE DESALES IRISH came from behind for a 17-14 win over Kamiah (Idaho). It was a good test for the Irish who will finally be at full strength this Friday when they travel to Pomeroy.
