Week 4 Results

Note: The Onionheads defeated the Muiracles 33-31.

Weeks 4: The Muiracles stand alone. The miracle men are the only team to remain undefeated as the Whales and Onion Heads fell this week. Working from the bottom up, the Salmon and Gatsbys won for the first time leaving the Colassals as the only team without a victory. LT led the way for the Muiracles with 15 points in their 31-27 victory over the Onion Heads. The Salmon got 15 from L. Johnson to upset the seas in a 38-22 win over the Whales. The Gatsbys got 13 from AP to defeat Charlie 43-18. The Maroons moved into a tie with the Onion Heads in the Peter Division (which won three of its four games this week) getting 14 points from G. Jennings in a 45-29 crushing of the grapes. The Ducks got past the Colassals 25-19. And the old man taught the young whippersnapper a few things in a 45-28 Wheaties victory over the Thumbs.

Moves: The Colassals took T. Edwards for D. Garrard and Meachem for Patten. The Whales got B. Lloyd and J. Gage for Crayton and Rice. The Salmon is stockpiling D’s with Jacksonville for Houston and San Diego for Reggie Brown. Charlie is getting nervous so he picked up Jervious, Norwood that is, for K. Watson. The Onion Heads love affair with Shockey came to an end as he was dropped for B. Sciafe. The Crushers love their Vikings, and have another with V. Shiacone for LJ Smith.

Many first round picks got it going this week. The toughest pick was Brady who got hurt. LT is rounding into form, and there are no obvious busts at this point. B. Edwards and L. Maroney are probably the most disappointing second round choices, while Coltson, A. Johnson, and C. Palmer have not shown as much as their owners hoped in the third round. Best pick in the fourth are A. Boldin and G. Jennings. Late round gems: 9th: Farve and F. Jones. 13th S. Slayton. Your thoughts?

THE DESALES IRISH hit their stride Friday with a 75-6 win over TRO. Ten turnovers by Tekoe led to short drives and scores all night. Come see the Irish this Saturday at 3. The game is during the Sausage Festival which runs Friday night 5-12, and Saturday 12-12. Enjoy

Week 3 Results

WWSOFFL:

Weeks 3: Three teams at 3-0 and three teams at 0-3. Standing atop the standings are the Onion Heads, the Whales, and the Muiracles. In the basement are three usually strong teams, the Salmon, Colassals, and Gatsbys. Clearly the worst team is the Gatsbys right now with only 6 points in a 31-6 loss to the aptly named Crushers. R. Bush led the way with 13 points. The Muiracles have picked up where they left off last season with another impressive showing behind LT and L. White’s 12 points each in a 38-23 win over the Ducks. The Whales won the two week money with a 44-13 win over the Thumbs as M. Lynch got into the endzone twice. The Maroons benched Hasselbeck and bounced back with a 33-16 win over the Wheat Eaters. Charlie had Salmon on the barbeque as M. Turner put up 20 points while R. Brown sat on the Salmon bench. All remains smiles on the tennis courts of Whitman as the Onion Heads downed the Colassals 32-25.

Moves: Charlie picked up I. Bruce and J. Carlson for Ginn and Davis. The Maroons got M. Pittman for Gaffney. The Gatsbys got the NY Giants D for Jacksonville and L. McClain for Stallworth, and the Colassals brought back an old friend C. Buckhalter for Kitna.

Draft Analysis Next Week!

THE DESALES IRISH continued to struggle with mistakes and finishing drives in a 20-10 loss to Colfax. Inside the 15 four times without a score. A home game this Friday at 7 p.m. against TRO. Come enjoy the fine concessions and the game. Kincaid is number 54.

week 2 results

WWSOFFL:

Weeks 2: Scoring was up from last week as we saw some impressive individual performances. The best game of the week was the 35-34 Wheaties win over Charlie as T. Romo’s 12 points offset M. Barber’s 12 on Monday night to hold the slim lead for Wally. The Colassals also won in the Link, 42-31 over the Whales behind 12 points from Scheffler and Crosby. The high scoring team of the week was the Onion Heads with a half-century in a 50-38 victory over the Crushers. Warner, Portis, and Prater all put up 12 points to overcome the 21 scored by A. Boldin. The Thumbs sang along with Jagger in their 38-19 win over the Gatsbys with Westbrook as K. Richard with 18 points. The Ducks got 13 from Gostkowski and TO to beat the Salmon 43-27. Longwell’s 18 points were more than enough for the Muiracles in a 29-8 win over the Maroons.

Moves: The Colassals were a busy group, taking D. Patten for R. Johnson, Scheffler for Boss, and A. Bradshaw for McAlister. The Salmon grabbed back Sproules for Brady. The Maroons went for the Gould and dropped Koby Smith. The Thumbs took Kasay for Graham and Buffalo for San Diego.

THE DESALES IRISH bounced back with a 37-7 win over Dayton. The first half was sluggish, but the second was all Irish. Homecoming this Friday at 7 p.m. against Colfax. Come enjoy the fine concessions and the game. Kincaid is number 54.

Week 1 results

WWSOFFL:

Weeks 1: Usually the first week of the season sees high scoring games as teams unwrap their offenses and good weather allows the passing games to be employed unimpeded. Not this year as we had only one team over 40 points and only two others over 30. The Maroons had a successful debut in a 21-19 win over the Salmon. I am sure Ben “Common Sense” Lenhart has already sent his congratulations. The Onion Heads got 11 points on Monday night from M. Prater to edge the Thumbs 36-34. Mr Detman, done in by the Broncos kicker. Ouch. The Muiracles rolled like it was 2007 with 12 points from D. Brees in a 25-18 win over the Wheaties. Charlie, the defending champ, looked like he is serious about a repeat with a big 45-25 victory over the Ducks. M. Turner led the way with 17 points. The Grapes beat the Colassals 24-17. The Whales won in a tiebreaker over the Gatsbys, 22-19 (23-23).

Moves: A lot of changes in the first week as is the norm. Colassals picked up Rudi Johnson for Porter, K. Boss for Sheffler, and J. Kitna for Burleson. Charlie got his kicker, picking up Rackers for A. Hall. The Grapes picked up D. Rosario for Meachem. The Ducks added another kicker, R. Birones for K. Faulk. The Salmon won the race to M. Cassel dropping D. Sproules. The Whales did the Morris shuffle, adding Sammy for Maurice. The Wheat Eaters like E. Royal more than M. Bulger.

THE DESALES IRISH lost their opener to LaSalle 32-22. It was a rough first game as the Irish made too many mistakes (11 penalties to 0, three blown covers for two tds and a 50 yard gain). They open league play this Friday in Dayton.
