Brees (who had 21 points, not 20) but it was A. Peterson who led the scoring this week with 22 points to power the Thumbs over the Onion Heads 45-23. Still, the Salmon won the first week money with an impressive 52 points in beating the Maroons 52-44 in the rugged Peter Division. The Muiracles downed the Wheaties 28-16. T. Jones led both the Jets and the Ducks to victories this weekend as his 15 points gave the Ducks the edge over Charlie 35-31. Twelve points each from D. McNabb and F. Gore were enough for the defending champ Crushers to beat the Colassals 26-18. And in a major opening week upset, the Gatsbys did what they almost never do, defeat the Whales 40-30.

Half of the first round picks failed to reach the endzone this weekend.

The DeSales Irish bounced back from an opening week loss to shut out Mac-Hi 26-0. They travel to Colfax this Friday to play the team that knocked them out of the playoffs last year.
