It's not really my fault that your teams over the last few years (well, to be honest, for a long as I can remember) have been weak sisters/doormats/the Atlanta Falcons of our league. The only question is whether you will be better or worse than the Wheateaters, which is a blog-worthy topic. In fact, I may go blog about it now.

True True Ben. I have had some shitty teams the past couple years. However it is the dawning of a new age for the "Falcons of the League". Having Matt "my playing time will be reduced if coach's FF team doesn't improve" Solomon in my corner should help the Onionheads. Only time will tell if he is the young Micheal Vick (full of promise and energy) or the old Micheal Vick (washing dishes in some state pen).

Hope everyone uses the blog!

I too was thinking about buying us a domain and setting up a page
using google - mostly to capture the banter and keep rosters and such
easily available, as well as everyone getting their own email with
team and owner names.

My real reason however is to post past drafts and season results. I
never did read what Glenn had for my old drafting, but as a 3 time
champ I'm certain there are historians and motivated young coaches
already looking for this data. And, my notable alumni status appears
to have been revoked on the whitman wikipedia page, and I need to
provide 'credible sources' to get a posting. I got a lot of .edu
buddies to get my champion status a world recognized fact (.edu's rank
high for "credibility" - isn't that a gas). All I need is a page to
cite this major achievement, and link the crap out of it.

Agreed Adam. If Glenn provides the drafts from past years I can put them up on the blog. No real need to buy a page if google provides it free (blogspot). I created a google spreadsheet and document that has the draft and schedule and put a link off the blog.

Adam Says
2:19pm, Boston:

Charlie Don't Surf would like to let the league know that he is now satisfied with the Michael Turner draft pick. League sources have seen the Turner family celebrating in the box suite along with team coach Adam and others from the Charlie organization. It is rumored there are performance based incentives in the Turner contract - and if so, Charlie may need to start making that trip to the bank, it looks like it's gonna be a lot of dough.

Must be thankful one Fast Willie Parker wasn't in the lineup!

Three comments:

1. Great comeback for the Panthers (and, in honor of the Dork Wings, the TE who caught it was another Duck).

2. I may be getting a dollar from eveyone if that dumb frickin' Brady is out for the season (should have known better than to pick a frickin patriot).

3. This gomsrud kid (or whoever this newcomer to our league)...for now I'll just call him Gomer, neglected the simple courtesy of providing his lineup to me (as I did for him). May the fantasy footnall gods rain down appropriate punishment for such conduct.

Adam-
From what I recall, you would gladly trade your #1 pick for NE to have a season of misery. Which I think is in order if Brady is in fact out for a while.

I looked throughout the rules and it says lineups need to be submitted prior to kickoff. The Maroons lineup was, to me. No rule says it has to be sent to the opponent. As for simple courtesy, it has only become the "norm" in the past year, and I still get calls every Sunday for an opponents lineup. How would Drew know that this is often done? In brief, stop whining it is only week 1.

Ben-
I'd hate to say it's common sense, but it is. More importantly, the
fact that I emailed my line up to you and copied Gomer, well, that
should have been a clue.

Nobody mentioned it was a rule. But it probably should be. Half of fun of the league is knowing who you are playing.

As for whining...please...put a sock in it...I was simply welcoming our newest member with a little (well deserved) sass...

Touchy, touchy.

Ducks
Dante Rosario always could catch the ball, but it usually was 5 yards downfield. Beautiful catch Dante! My backs Forte, Smith and Jones all scored, I may have to bench Ricky Williams Baby.

Drew -
I would like to apologize to the league. I have been informed that there have been several nisunderstanding this first week that have led to unpleasantness. I, for my part, made the mistake of not fully educating myself on league etiquette and Ben seems to have made the mistake of assuming people open and read his emails. I will endeavor to do better.

Ben-
Well played, Andrew. That's the spirit.

Gentlemen,

The Collosals would like to state clearly that we really hate Wille Parker. Really, really hate him.

Additionally, we would like to point out that the best thing our first round pick, Joseph Addai, did for us last night was run softly out of the endzone, allowing our defense, da Bears, to tackle him for a safety. The Bears D has an early jump on being our highest scoring "player" two years running. It looks to be a big year for us. A big, big year.

Sincerely,

Collosals Mismanagement

I really have no idea what Jeff and Adam are talking about with blogs. I know I immediately deleted the invitation to join, and I have no intention of doing so. I will send out the results via email as I always do and if others want to post it to some blog that is fine, but do not expect me to do so. Similarly, I will keep track of moves but I have no intention of updating something online.

Ben -
Fantasy football. Old school. The way it was meant to be played. And that's just one of the many reasons I love our league.

Brian -
Gentlemen,

Well I, for one, intend to use the new blog to chronicle my new plan to combine Sunday professional football with preparing food for my family for the upcoming week. Exciting isn't it? Be sure to check it out to find some tasty menu items that will allow you to rationalize more time doing what you want to do, which is watch football. My cooking plan allows you to say something like this when your significant other walks into the room and finds you in the exact same position on the couch they saw you in an hour and a half before: "The chili for tonight is done and I'm almost finished with Tuesday's enchilada casserole!" Conversation over!

Cheers,

Brian

Wow, I might have to rethink my views on all of this!

Love em or hate em blogs can be a great tool. Doesn't matter to me if people want to use it or not, but for the record I'm copying all the email comments to the blog. You know why? Some day I might want to go back and actually read some of the crap thrown about via email.

I've updated the page so it has the schedule, draft pics, and the rules.

Adam -
Ever wonder how large or small the tv markets are for teams? Want to see how often my New England locale is BLOCKED from seeing anything opposite the Pats? This site rocks - click on single, early, or late games to see the maps.

http://the506.com/nflmaps/index.html

For those of you who may have, or be willing to install, the google earth browser plugin (aka, not Schmitz) - you can zoom around all the NFL and college stadiums using these two links:

or

As you can see, Charlie Don't Surf uses all available means to research his teams, and manage the large fan base that is building. Look to join the new facebook group, 'Charlie Don't Surf - Forever Champions' which is growing rapidly each day. You've already been told about the Charlie Coaching hotline - 4.99/min, and some of you have taken advantage of the league discount I provided for last years Championship hats, coffee mugs, and t-shirts. Good job folks - that's quality merchandise.

p.s. - Great Oz, thanks for the kind words below.

Attached please find the first week results. It is great to be back in the season. As usual, Charlie Don't Surf Dominated and he will most likely be champion yet again.
